Eton made 415 for 8 declared (AkersDouglas 158, Slieejishanks 69, Delisel 67). Harrow made 289 (Lindsay 68). Bowling, Hazlerigg took 5 for 73. Eton won by 28 runs.

Playing Essex, Gloucester in the first innings made 523 (Dipper 86, Hammond 244, Lyon 50). Raison took 5 for 104. In the second innings Gloucester made 30 for 3. Essex in the first made 161, Mills taking 4 for 46; and following oil made in the second 388 (O’Connor 124, Russell 113), Parker taking 8 for 100. Gloucester won by seven wickets. Derbyshire against Yorkshire made in tho first innings 234 (Jackson 85), Leyland taking 4 for 47, and in the second 199 (Storer 57), Macaulay taking 5 for 70. Yorkshire in the first made 455 for 8 declared (Holmes 67, Mitchell 91, Sutcliffe 111, Leyland 149), Worthington taking 4 for 67. Yorkshire won by an innings and 52 runs.

Kent in tho first made 363 against Hampshire (Hardinge 64, Ashdown 136) and in the second 120 for 2 (Deed not out 71).
