ROSS NEWS.

The ball held by the Boss Tennis Club last evening was an unqualified success, both financially and socially and lias been voted the best ball of the present season. Several car loads of visitors from Rinni, Ruatapu and other surrounding places were present. Excellent music was supplied lty Miss Elans’ orchestra and the duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr B. Richards. The Hall was tastefully decorated with hanging streamers, balloons and greenery and an excellent supper was served by the ladies. During supper a speech was made by the Vice-President of the Club Qlr G. H. Chapman) who thanked the public for the large attendance and also all who had assisted in making the function such a great success. The hall terminated at 2.30 a.m.

Nominations for tlio Harihari Sports closed last night. Handicaps are not yet to hand but will be published later.

A meeting of the Medical Association took place at Harihari yesterday and from latest reports the discussion on the necessity of a doctor in South Westland mot with approval, and it is proposed that the doctor be stationed at Harihari and make twice weekly trips to Waifio and way places.
