HOKITIKA POULTRY SHOW
A GREAT DISPLAY,
The Hokitika Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Club opened their annual show in the Soldiers’ Hall this afternoon under very satisfactory conditions. There was a fine entry, over four hundred birds being staged, and the quality was very good,- and competition keen, especially in the White Leghorns. Air F. Ducrc, the wellknown Canterbury judge had a considerable task in making his awards, the judging taking several hours. The Soldiers’ Hall is well filled with a great assortment of poultry, the display being voted a very fine one. The Secretary and Committee had made complete arrangements for the display of the large entry. •The Show was opened at 3 o’clock by Mr J. J. Breeze, an apology for absence having been received from the Mayor (Mr G. A. Perry.) The Show will he open this evening and again to-morrow (Wednesday) afternoon and evening.
