WEDDING BELLS
A very popular wedding which caused considerable interest was solemnised at St. Paul’s Methodist Church last Wednesday evening, the contracting parties being Mary, the youngest daughter of Mrs Rugg, of Hokitika, and Hector, third sou of the late Mr and Mrs Parker, of Greymouth. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Knowles-Smitli, and the service was choral. The bride was given away by her uncle (Air IV. Reid). She wore a pretty frock of powder blue crepe-de-chine with bat to tone and carried a bouquet of maidenhairfern and fuchias. She was attended by her cousin, Miss Alice Reid, who wore a frock of apricot crepe-de-chine and tulle cap and carried a pretty bouquet. Mr Harold Parker (brother of the bridegroom) was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride’s home where toasts were duly honoured. Later the happy couple left by car en route to Christchurch carrying with them the best wishes of a large circle of friends.
