It has been arranged between the Government Whips and Labourites that the Home Office Vote will bo brought on in tlie Commons to-day. to afford the Opposition an opportunity of initiating a, debate on the appointment of Lord Byng. It is reported iliat Mr Jonyson Hicks may feci it desirable to explain more fully Lord Byng’s task. The phrase “stern call to duty” has not been used lightly. Administrative reforms of great importance are in prospect, and some iii the changes involved will require courageous handling.
(British Official Wireless). RUGBY, July 4. In the Commons. Mr AY. C. Bridgeman stated that the slow Royal Fleet auxiliary Slavol had been sent, in response to the wireless calls of the liner Jervis Bay, instead of the fast cruiser Eiiterjiri.se. because the latter was then at Colombo having her engines overhauled. He understood that all the available help that was necessary was sent.
