ADDINCTON STOCK SALE.

CHRISTCHURCH, July 4

There was a small attendance ot' buyers at Addington to-day, and the market was inclined to drag.

Tat Cattle.—A sandier yarding, comprising 400 head. The quality was not up to the standard of the previous week; nevertheless the market opened firm, and was well maintained, creating a rise of 25s to 30s per head. Steers: Extra heavy to £23 7s 6d, heavy £l9 15s toy£2i : prime £ls 15s to £l7 12s fid; medium £l4 5s to £ls ss; light £ll 5s to £l2 ss; heifers, extra prime to £ls 17s 6d ; prime £ll 5s to £l3; medium £9 5s to £lO 10s, ■ down to £7 15s. Cows: Extra heavy to £ls 7s Cd; heavy £l2 10s to £l3 ss; prime £9 5s to £lO 15s; medium £8 5s to £9 10s, down to £6. Store Cattle. —A comparatively small yarding, mostly odds and ends anu nondescript sorts. The market was good Imt practically no quotable lines were offering.

Eat Sheep.—A smaller entry comprising some prime lots. The market was irregular,- witli a lower standard for ewes. Prime wethers 38s (id to 4(is, extra to 49s 4d, medium 34s to 38s, others to 33s fid, prime ewes 33s to 38s, extra to 4us, medium 26s fid to 325, others to 235.

Store Sheep.—There was a small entry but few lots were passed, and prices were fairly well maintained. Crossbred ewes and lambs realised up to 27s fill; half bred wether lambs to 24s 8d; three-qmi rterbred ewe lambs to 25s oil. Best quality showed an increase in values, especially for breeding ewes: 4. G, and 8 tootli tliiecquarterbred ewes to 365, S.AI. ewes 27s to 325, '.best ewes 29s to 335, and down to 21s for poorer sorts.

Fat Lambs.—A small yarding, mostly of inferior qualify. Late rates were fully maintained. Extra heavy prime to 455, heavy 38s to 40s, prime 33s to 375, medium 29s to 32s lOd; light 26s to 28s Cd. pigs, fairly large yarding, hut no quotable difference from last week.
