By Telegraph—Press Assn., Copyright. WELLINGTON. July 3. The Golf Council lias made some alterations in the championship programme from the past year. The Open Championship and -Amateur Qualification rounds will be played first on. the Friday and Saturday, foursomes on the -Monday, first and second rounds of the Amateur Championship will consist only of eighteen holes, played on the Tuesday and Thursday (olf day) the final on Saturday. This .cuts two days off the meeting, which opens probably on the 12th October. In connection with the standardisation of courses it was resolved to notify clubs not to adopt the new standard of scratch score until advised. The standardising of the majority of the courses has been completed.
