FOOTBALL.
WEST COAST RUGBY UNION.
The weekly meeting was held at Grcymouth last evening. It was resolved that Newman’s Limited tender for conveyance of representative players to Grcymouth next Saturday lie accepted. A protest was received from the Kumar a Chib re United Club playing T. Nelson, who had played previously for Kiwi juniors this season. It was resolved to advise the Kurnara Club that- Nelson fulfilled the residential qualifications, viz., ho. was in tlio Grey district a clear 14 days before he playeel, and also to point out to. the .Club that this rule applied to players playing under the Sub-Unions ns well as outside Unions.
A letter was received from Nelson Union asking consent for their travelling with the Seddon Shield to AVestport on August 25th. It was resolved to reply that as same does not affect the AVest Coast challenge to Nelson on 28th. July at Nelson, this Union have no objection. B< tiller I'll ion wrote asking this Union that, in the event of being-suc-cessful in lifting the Seddon ,Shield
from Nelson, their challenge to Nelson for August 4th. ho accepted. It was rosolved to reply, that at the present time this Union could not see its way to accept such’ challenge, but in the event of being successful in Nelson on 28th. July, this Union would be prepared to accept a challenge after that date.
Duller Union wrote advising that Mr F. Keating had been appointed as manager of the Buffer team. The New Zealand Union wrote confirming the rendmission of P. A. Pascoe, on the recommendation of AVest Coast Rugby Union. H. Cameron was
transferred on the recommendation of Technical School from Technical to Blaketown fifths. Rob'ertson (Stars)* advised the Union that he was unavailable for next Saturday’s match, West Coast v. Buffer. It was decided’ to ask the AVcstland Sub-Union to play the usual home and home matches, AVcstland v. Grey, the first match to take place in Greymouth on 7th. July. The following officials were appointed for the Buffer match: Timekeeper, Air J. Guy; manager for Const team, Air A. AVhite, It was l resolved to procure 500 programmes. It was resolved, to submit the following referees to Buffer Union for selection: Messrs T. AfcTntosh, AV. Williams and E. AV. Heenan. AVEST COAST V. BULLER. The following team will represent Buffer against AVest Coast at Greymouth next Saturday:— Full-back: C. Afntson. Three-quarters: C. Jones, A. Graham 1 , Hay-AlncKenzic. Fiveeighths: F. O’Brien, F. Sott. Half-hack: J. Green. AVing-forward: J; Caldwell. Hookers: R. Gardiner, N. Lowther. Lock: AAL Spence. 1 ’*' Side row; G; Stuart, W. AlcNeight. Back row :' - C.’ McCabe, P. Clarke.
