Coxliead, of Tima.ru High School Old Boys’ team, in a match at Fraser Park on Saturday, was suspended for life by tho management committee of the South Canterbury Rugby Union which met last night. COAST FARMERS. OTAGO EXCURSION. DUNEDIN, June 7. Tho West Coast Farmers’ Excursion Train, which arrived here on Monday night at 9.64. after an all day journey from Ross (385 miles), brought 250 visitors who have, during tho past few days been entertained by the Otago A. end P. Society, the Farmers’ Union and the Chamber of Commerce. On Tuesday they were the guests of the A. and P. Society at the Winter Show, and in the. afternoon were taken on a sight-seeing tour of the city. On Wednesday the West Coasters were the guests of tho Dunedin Jockey Club at the AVingatui Races. To-day was spent by the extortionists on a visit to 22 of the leading city factories and foundries. Tn the afternoon 200 of them participated in a motor trip around the Taieri Plains calling in at the chief stud farms and homesteads, where every courtesy and hospitality were extended. The visitors have expressed themselves as charmed with the welcome extended then: and the arrangements made for their entertainment. The train will return to the Coast on Saturday, to-morrow being taken up with a. special visit to the Bushby Park stud of Afr J. A. Johnstone.

Solomon Roe, aged 62, drank liniment prescribed by tho doctor for external application, and died from the effects at the Christchurch Hospital this morning. This was the substance of tiic verdict at tlie inquest to-day by Coroner AJoslcy. Rowe, it was stated, had been for twenty years employed by the City Council. Lately he was given three months’ notice. This had made him depressed. After hearing evidence, tho Coroner found that tho cause of death was poisoning, lint that there was iusnflicieiifc evidence to show whether it was taken intentionally.
