ADDINGTON STOCK SALE.

VALUES WELL UP. . CHRISTCHURCH,. June G. The' yardings were normal at Addington to-day, but tne quality was in some eases below normal. Values generally kept up well for this season. In fat cattle there was an entry of 500 head of mixed qualify. There was a firmer demand for best steers. Cows and heifers sold at late rates. The values per lOOlbs were: Heavy steers 34s to 3Gs; light 41s To"34s; best cows 34s to 37s ; medium 30s to 32s others 24s to 275; best heifers 39s to 425; Lflifdjuip fo.3Bsj others-33§ tp 355.

The fat sheep comprised slightly a smaller yarding, the quality being better all round. Competition was keen and prices were fully up to, and in most cases .over, the schedule rates , Values were on a par with’ last week. The store sheep formed an unattractive entry. The smaller lambs were an inferior *• lot. The average prices were: Ewe lambs, half breds 27s to 30s 4d; cross-lireds 23s 6d to 2Gs. There were few buyers for wether lambs except for carrying over. The adult store sheep mostly were mixed lots, including old ewes. Broken.mouthed, four, six, and eight-tooth Romney ewes made from 30s to 34s 6d. Two-tooth Romney ewes made 41s. Sound-mouth ews, cross-bred and in Jamb, fetched 275. The store wethers were keenly sought after, half-breds making to 33s 6d, Jt was a good sa’e

considering the time of the year and the inferiority of the yarding. The fat lambs constituted a smaller yarding. The market was on a'par with last week. Up to 3Glb lambs, the schedule price for which is now 12jd, fully maintained the rates. Tho butchers’ competition was animated on the heavy pens. Light sorts sold exceptionally well. The quotation is the same as last week. The fat pigs made a small yarding of good quality, and there was a better sale all round. Values were;—Choppers £2 to £6 10s ; light porkers 32s to 355; mediums 39s to 445; heavy 45s to 53s ;extra heavy to £3. The average price was 6} per lb to 7Jd. Light liaconers sold at £3 3s to £3 10s; medium £3 11s to £3 18s; heavy £4 to £5 extra heavy £5 7s Gd. Tho average price per lb was t& B}di"
