The Dunedin J.C. winter meeting opened in fine weather, with the track in good winter order. There was a large attendance. The tote handled £z0,430, compared with £18,598-)- on the first day last year, a Wednesday. Results:—

The Auckland Racing Club’s winter meeting was continued to-day in fine weather, with a large attendance. TJie tote handled £94,392, compared with £73,528 on the second day last, year, an increase of £20,864.

Geyserland was killed in jumping the fence on the hill in the Hunt C'luh Oup. Glendowie lowered the record for the Great 1 Northern Steeplechase by one second. Results:—
