CORRESPONDENCE.

NOXIOUS WEEDS

(To the Editor.)

Sir —I have read the effusion signed by “Visitor’’ commenting on the condition of the Road Reserves opposite various section holders in the Arahura Valley which appeared in your valued columns on Saturday last.

It is a pity that this disgruntled writer, instead of communicating his fancied grievances through the eolumss of the press, did not first approach the two members of the Westland County Council for the Northern Riding. From the reputation of these two gentlemen (Messrs Murdoch and Ward) and judging by their actions in the past, I think Visitor would have been much better engaged had he enlisted their services instead of consigning the members of the County Council to a seat in the blackberry bushes. T think that the writer of the letter must have been sitting on a Scotch thistle while inditing his vitriolic epistle. In any event, Mr Editor, windoes not visitor give the name or names of the settlors who are defaulting in tiroir duty to their neighbours? Where is tiic need for concealment, and let me invite visitor to communicate at oheo with tho Inspector of Noxious Weeds for the District, and probably this gentleman when lie next visits the Arahura Snlcynrds could he induced to pay a visit to the locality where the nuisance exists. Yours etc., CRITIC.
