MAOIH CLOAK FOR TOM KEENEY

On behalf of the Maoris of New Zealand a handsome Karowai, or Maori cloak, has been forwarded to America to Tom Heeney by Lady Carroll. The cloak, which is made of flax fibre, handsomely decorated with the feathers of native birds, was formerly the property of .Bauliia Tawhiwhi, one of the leading chieftains of the Ngatiporou tribe, of tlio East Coast who died recently.

Accompanying the gift is a letter, in Maori and English, wishing Heeney all success, and stating that it would give the donors pleasure if Heeney wore the cloak on his entry in the ring against Tunney.
