KING’S EMPIRE TROPHY. MINIATURE RIFLES. LONDON, May 26. Following are results of the competition for the King’s Empire trophy for miniature rifle shooting (figures are average scores in tbe hundred): — Canada, 79,21 1 South Africa, 78.03 2 Britain, 71.03 New Zealand, 63.93 4 Australia did not qualify. Her entry was 3208, compared with South Africa’s 13,000, New Zealand’s 3028 and Canada’s 4561. Silver and bronze medals for scores above 97 were awarded to 239 Canadians, ninety Australians and six New Zealanders. The Naval Reserve (Newcastle, Australia) won tlio senior Imperial Challenge Shield with 98.76, heading ten Australians in the honours list. 'Hie Royal Australian Naval Reserve, Edgecliffe, was sixth with 95,95, and Launceston eighth with 94.51. New Zealand scored seven honours, beaded by C. Company, Second Battalion, North Auckland Regiment, IVliangarei, with 86.97. Disappointment is expressed at tbe diminution in Australian and New Zealand competitors.
