KEMAL AND SHAH. FOLLOW AFGHAN KING'TO ELI? OFF. Inspired apparently by the elaborate European welcomes to King Amnnulfnb and Queen Souriya of Afghanistan, two other monarehs have indicated that they are considering touring Germany, Franco and England. They are Mustapha Tvemal, president of the Turkish Republic, and the Shah of Persia,' a ruler who dramatically deposed his predecessor. It is obvious that both rulers because of the novelty of their visits to the West and their political significance will have great shows of power and pomp spread before them. ESTHONIAN BUTTER. Amongst the sina ller competitors of the New Zealand dairymen in supplying butter to the London market is the Baltic State Esthonia. Since 1921 its annual export increased from 200 tons to 9000 tons in 1926. Formerly the bulk of the butter imported was sent to Germany, but in 1926 the United Kingdom absorbed 33 per cent of the total exports, and it is now regularly quoted as a supplier to the London market. Much attention is paid to the development of the industry and specialists from Switzerland and Denmark are regularly employed in efforts to maintain the high grade quality of the butter. Price fluctuations are frequent, hut on the whole its value is comparable with that of this Dominion’s output.
