KIDNAPPED THE WRONG PEOPLE. JERUSALEM, March 20. A motor driver relates liow seven cars were, held up Lj miles from Rut|>a Wells by a' hand of 24 Arabs —one report says that the kidnappers consisted of 1,000 Wahabis—-who searched the travellers, plundered them. | and brought them before their Arab leader. The latter addressed them variously in English, French, and Turkish, and apologised , for the discomforts they had suffered. After placing cigarettes at the disposal of the kidnapped party he inquired particularly as to whether Jnnfar Pasha was among them. Four hours later he ordered the plunder to iho returned to the travellers and liberated them, merely taking tyres and petrol for his own car. Four hours after this hold-up Janfar Pasha El Askari did pass that way hut with an escort of aeroplanes.
