(By Telegraph—Per Press Association J WELLINGTON, May 10. At a meeting of the Management Committee of the Now Zealand Rugby Union held to-night, the following interpretations of rules were . agreed upon:—(I) In the ease of a folia red player, not a tackled one, coming to tho ground with the hall in his possession, and getting rid of it, such player is not to he penalised if he plays the hall with his feet while still on tho ground.
(2) That in eases where the- ball goes into touch, the referee he allowed to alter his decision if he has given one, and then finds that the touch flag is up.
(3) A referee has power to order r free kick in cases of a pass lonian to a. player offside.
Messrs E. Wylie and E. McKenzie were appointed to act with a member of the New Zealand Referees’ Association as a Referees’ Appointment Board for the season the affiliated Unions to submit lists of competent referees in order of merit by June loth. Messrs S. S. Dean, H. S. Leith, and E. Wvlio wore re-elected on the Finance Committee, and Me-.,r- X. C. Kitto, IT. Leith and J. G. Roach were appointed a Mimscar Cup Committee.
'INTERNATIONAL VISITS. LONDON, Mav 16.
“Sporting Life” congratulates the New Zealand Rugby Union on the manner in which it has received the International Board's intimation that no British team will lie visiting New Zealand in 1930, a Compliment to which they are entitled. It welcomes tho sportsmanlike and statesmanlike action of the English Union in accepting the New Zealand invitation, and also the prospects of periodical visits by tlie All Blacks. The paper adds: “There are many reasons why Continental countries are not admitted to fellowship with the home Unions, hut these certainly do not apply to tho Dominions, who are as keenly anxious for the future of the game as ourselves.

At the Now Zealand Rugby Union meeting to-night, a. letter was received from the International Rugby Board apologising for not being able to accopt the New Zen In ml Rugby ITnrurp offer for a team to tour New Zealand in 1030. The letter stated the Board found it impossible to- get together a team fully representative of the f. home countries by 1930. The Board would much like to have accepted the invitation.
The Board’s decision was regretted by the New Zealand Rugby Union, hut Mr S. 8. Dean stated, that, for the life of him, he could not see how the Board could know that it- would be impossible to get a strong team in 1930. He moved that the Board be informed that the X.Z.R.U. regretted they were rumble to send a team in 1930, but- were very grateful to the English Rugby Union for stepping into the breach, and deciding to send a team. The motion was carried.
