THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES
To Sut The AA'oni.n Right. There was a feeling of helplessness that prevented people putting the work! in order. It as a feeling of lack of, power that .prevented statesmen and politicians bringing these things about. The affairs of the modern world were so involved, so intricate, and they felt that they had not the power to change it. AA'hen peace came after the war, all wanted peace, hut the result was a peace that was not a peace. Half the people one met said : “AA’hen, the next war conies.” No one wanted war, hut it was felt that there was a. lack of 'power to prevent it.' —Miss' Afaiul Rovdeii.
