SAMOA
STATEMENT BY DREAMER. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Alay 10. That New Zealand intends to retain the Administration of Samoa was made clear by the Prime Minister in the course of an address to a gathering held under the auspices of the Junior Reform League. He said the Alan was at present arranging to make its representations before the Alnndntos Commission in the hope that the latter would give them what they wanted—“ Samoa for Samoans.” Such a proposal would lend to bloodshed and absolute chaos. As far as Samoa was concerned, only by European administration was it possible to have ponce in Samoa. New Zealand would mil relinquish the administration there. Its object Was to have peace, law and order, and no alteration would be made until this was achieved. “Wo arc not using force,” ho said, “that is the last thing. Wo are trying to persuade the Samoan that he has everything to thank the administration for and that by passive resistance be is only making trouble fot" himself and everyone else.”
