King procures the grant and holds it ns a whip over the heads of the homesteaders to make them vacate; the 2b.000 dollars out ol which Wade has been bain-bnozled is safe in the pockets of darkness, and Wade linils himself forced into outlawry to save himself from lynching at the hands of his former friends, lie is captured, and about to he lynched when his pal Kern Spooner (Tom Kennedy) forces the ranchers at the point of two guns to bring him back to town to stand a fair trial. Mow lie escapes and goes about the country as ‘the mysterious rider,’ warning the ranchers to bold their ground till they can get a bearing in the courts, and how lie finally saves the situation makes a story packed with the thrills that the .lack Molt lans have learned to expect. An intersting love story is to be found here too. It starts when Holt saves King’s daughter (Hetty Jewel) from death in a pit of quicksand notwithstanding his own danger from the band of lynchers who are pursuing him. The story is lightened with some very fine touches of comedy. John Waters, who lias directed Jack Holt in several of bis previous Zone (Jrey pictures, principally "Horn to the West." "Forlorn River.” and "Alan of the Forest.” wielded the megaphone. The usual supports will also be r.liowii. including a line comedy.
