OHIKEITHS BEATS GILLESPIE. (United Press Association.—Bv Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) DUNEDIN, April 15. On Saturday evening. Tommy (Griffiths (Sst. 7-Jlb.) heat Norman Gillespie (Sst. 13 Jib.), featherweight champion of Australsaia .in a 15-round contest for a purse of £l5O offered by the Otago Boxing Association. The light was closely contested, and went the full distance. From the outset. Griffiths proved himself the speedier and more elusive boxer, and in the opening rounds he did most ol the leading. Gillespie is a likeable hoexr. who punches hard and straight, hut was too slow for the Dunedin lad. who made him miss badly throughout.
