While the Foreign Office reiterates the publication of details that the Communist raids are not a strain on Russo-Japanese relations, there is increasing evidence that the position at the Russian Embassy in Tokyo will I>3 unpleasant. It is ’ reliably stated to have l>ecn Ifwrned that a special commission for China in Aroscow passed a resolution for the formation of Communist Party branches at Kobe and Yokohama. It is stated that Vassilieff is to be sent to Tokyo nominally to assist the Soviet commercial attache, but with the real purpose to act -as Communist organiser. It is not learned whether A’assilcff arrived and there is no reports of any Russians arrested in connection with the raids. It is considered -significant, however, tout the police are detaining the Japanese assistant, which the official Russian News Agency always operated in Tokyo as a virtual Department of the Embassy. Alcantime the Governntent spokesmen indicated they will exert pressure on two Farmers’ Labour Party members of the Diet to voluntarily resign, their seats, but the party aro now reorganising and the loaders state the members cannot be forced to resign their seats. It is indicated, however, that Government may he able to force their unseating. Cabinet secretaries consulted the Premier regarding proletarian members’ status and said a course of action will finally be decided at Seiyukai Party meeting to-nT.glit. It I is also reported that Cabinet may protest. to Aroscow against the alleged Russian support of Japanese Communists. asserting it is violating the A'oshizana-Tvarakhan agreement
