Special inquiries regarding missionary reports of the looting and destruction of mission property on an extensive scale hy troops of the so-called Christian General Eengy uk.siang, in Honan Province, reveal damage of vast proportions. Befugee Canadian" missionaries lied in advance of Kong’s troops who committed wanton acts of destruction and vandalism, looting all missionary property in Northern Honan.. All except one mission fell into the Ipi nils of Feng’s troops. They completely demolished even hospitals where the wounded were previously succoured, destroyed the contents and looted most of the houses and buildings, stripped the flooring and roofs. A letter of protest sent to Feng hy former missionary friends was ignored, despite Feng’s personal direetion to the troops.
