Heavy lighting is reported to he progressing between Chang Tso Lin’s forces and the Shansi Provincial army. It is believed this is an initial step in a Nationalist offensive, the objective being Peking. The former’s forces are reported to have been heavily defeated.

Almost the entire Nationalist army of two hundred thousand is now massed north of Yangtze, and is ready to advance in conjunction with the Christian General, Feng Yuli Siatig’s forces. The offensive is proclaimed for the purpose of completing the Chinese revolution, and of unifying China. The Nationalists now control Shansi. The Nationalists’ ally. General Feng, having attacked, it is expected that the main Nationalist force will move on to Peking immediately,
