COLONEL NOBILE’S PROJECT. LONDON, April 3.
The exploration steamer Citta Di Milano from which Colonel Nobile,' the famous airship navigator, will make his polar flight, has arrived at Plymouth to refuel, and to renew nor supplies before sailing at, the end of the week. When the Citta Di Minano reaches Spitsbergen Island, in the Arctic, Colonel Nobile will leave the vessel in the airship "Italia.” The Citta Di Milaon is a ship of 5200 tons. She has been specially strengthened for this voyage to encounter her attack with the ice. Her upper deck lias been enclosed, and specially heated and she carries a crew of Kit) men. She has a large stock of cylinders of hydrogen for the airship. Colonel Nobile is planning' three flights from Spitsbergen to the. North Pole, then to the north-west, and then to the south east.
PRIEST SCIENTIST TO GO. ROME, April 3. The Pope has nominated Rev. Father Grian Flandesesche, the President of the Pontificial College of Science, to accompany Colonel Nobile on his Polar flight, ATLANTIC FLIGHT. FIVE FRENCH PROJECTS. PARIS, April 3. Five French westward tarns-Atlantic flights are being planned. M. Bleriot (pioneer flier of the Channel) has designed a giant fourengined eight-toil six-passenger machine, which will he piloted by M. lloussotrot in a flight via the Azores. If this is successful, he will establish a regular service. Others flying are: Costes and Lebrix, in a Brequet biplane ; Captain Gilbaud, in a Latha n hydroplane, via the Azores ; Sergeant De Troyat. in an allmetal plane. Lastly the American, Levine’s former pilot, Drouhin, is going ill a long-winged Rainbow plane. LABOUR FUND. LONDON, April 3.
