ADHIMCTCN STOCK SALES. CHRISTCHURCH, April -J. The yardings generally were lighter to-day at Addington, and in some directions the market was easier. Fat (attic.—There was a medium yarding of fat cattle, comprising 349 head. The quality was very irregular. and in most eases unattractive. The market opened firmer, hut ns the sale progressed values eased considerably, and closed at about last week’s average rates. Prime steers fetched £l3 15s in Ulti Ids; extra to £lB 17s (id. medium £ll to £l3; others to £S 15s. Prime cows fetched £9 to £ll 2s (id; extra to £l2 17s Od; medium £0 to £8 15s; others to £4 15s. Prime heifers fetched £8 to £9 15s; extra to £l2 17s Oil; medium £0 10s lo £7 15s. and others to £7 ss. Store Cattle.—There was a very small entry of store cattle, and no quotable lines were offered. The demand was similar to that of last week.

Fat Sheep.—There was a smaller yarding of fat sheep. The quality generally was very indifferent, and mostly ewes were yarded. Owing to the proximity of the Kustov holidays ihc butchers were not too keen. Consequently the market was slightly easier,' (‘.specially on heavy ewes. The exporters, however, were operating keenly on all classes suitable for freezing, and they helped materially to .keep the market on a fair basis. Prime wethers sold at from 31s to 34s (id; extra to 40s, medium 27s to 30s Gd ; others to 24s (id. Prime ewes wore 21s to 2!!s; extra to 31s 7d: medium 17s to 28s 3d; lighter to 14s Gd. Fat l.ambs—There was a medium yarding of fat lambs. The quality generally was indifferent. The market in our opinion, was easier, especially for lighter and inferior sorts, probably owing to their having to lie held over Easter. However, prices were very fully up to the schedule. Prime lambs sold at 2Ss to 325, extra, to 35s fid ; medium 25s Gd to 27s Gd ; others to 225.

Store Sheen.—There was a. largo yarding of store sheep, and it again included a fair proportion of shipiled sheep, mostly from Poverty Hay. The market was linn throughout. Not many wethers were carded. Forward lambs fetched 20s to 255. medium 10s fid to 10s. others up to Us. Best two and four-tooth crossbred owes fetched 30s to 355. and medium 23s Gd to 28s fid; and best four year crossbred ewes 27s to 33s Gd. One extra good line of four and six tooths fetched 36s npioio; medium 23s to 20s Gd. others to 13s.

pj(r s .—The fat pigs were a medium entry, and met nil improved demand. Choppers sold at £3 to rCn Is; light porkers 3fis to 30s Gd ; medium to 48s Cd: heavy to 55s fid. The average mice was GUI to 7-Jd per lb. Light, bacoiiers sold at 55s to 50s fid, medium to 755; heavy to ols Gd. The average was old to G.l per lh. The store pigs were a large yarding, mostly wearers. They met a slack sale throughout. Wenners (small) sold at 4s to os. best to 9s fid; small stores 11s to 15s ; medium to 10; best 21s to 32s Gd.
