A R AMUR A EAT STOCK SALE

At yesterday’s fixture in the above yards .Messrs W. Jeffries and Co. submitted to auction a small yarding of 21 lambs and sheep and 30 head of cattle. There was a good attendance ol butchers and with the short entry, prices were distinctly firm. Ox beef made to 40 s per hundred, prime heifer beef to 37s (id, while cow according to quality and age made from 28s to 335. The following sales were recorded:— On account of V. Honor, (i lambs at 21s fid, 18 fat ewes at 245. On account of W. Olderog, 1 voaler at £3 ss, 2at £2 15s, 2at C l 12s fid, 2at £3 12s fid. 1 at C2. On account of J. Collett, 2 cows at £lO, 2 runners at £5 12s fid. On account of J. Harris, 1 voaler at £2 17s fid, 1 cow at £9. On account o ! a client 1 bullock at £ls ss, .1 at £l4. 1 at £ll ss. On account of P. J. Sim 1 heifer at £lO 12s fid. 4 cows at £8 2s fid, 1 steer at £9 2s fid, 2 rows at i_7 12s (id.

Houston and Co. report ns follows :—At the above sale yester day our entry consisted ol 40 head ol fat c-atle and 50 head of store bullocks, which were submitted to the usual attendance of buyers. Practically the whole of the yarding was Comprised ol cow and heifer beef and vealers. there being a shortage ol ox beef, and as a consequence the little ox beef offered made from 3fis to 40s per hundred, whilst good cow and heifer beef sold well at 34s to 37s fid per hundred. There was an over supply of vealers. but good sales were made. We sold as followsOn account ol H. X.
