Nicholson disclosed he had been in a motoring business in Melbourne and Adelaide for the last two years. He was offered a job at Rnhatil, but thought London more attractive. INDIAN RAILWAY STRIKE. DELHI, March 28. A strike of fifteen thousand employees in railway works shop at Lilloach, just outside Calcutta, took a serious turn when one thousand strikera marched to the business quarters of the city and blocked the street outside the railway offices. Upon the agent declining to concede the principle of full pay while no work was done, the crowd returned to Howrah, stoned trains and loyal workers and ay on the rails. The police fired, one being killed and ■ Wounded. PRAYER BOOK. LONDON, March 28.
The Bishops of the Upper House and Province of Canterbury accepted the new Prayer Book by 10 to G votes. Bishops of the Province of York accepted it unanimously. The Primate, addressing tire love houses of both provinces at Church House, Westminster, replied to the charge that the convocation had been slightingly overlooked, said he had always protected the Convocation => right. The Presidency of the Convocation among Archbishops was the most prized of privileges. He hoped the hook would soon pass because important business awaited the Convocations attention. He respect the conscientious conviction of those opposing the book from the outset. He had no right to expect many of them to vote differently now, hut he found a difficulty in understanding the attitude of those previously in favour, who now opposed.
