The presentation was made by Air Craw, stationmaster. who spoke of the many fine qualities or the recipient, and congratulated him on his joining the benedicts. Mr King suitably responded. One competitor was Atkinson, of Christchurch, who bolds the 50 yards championship ol Canterbury. and is an ex-Xow Zealand champion. He made a record lor the local baths of 12 1-5 seconds for 25 yards. The railway staff assembled at the Hokitika Station on Friday afternoon, on the eve of the departure ol -Mr Craw who has filled the office ( ’ f stationmaster here for approximately seven years, and n presentation was made to him hv Air G. Clarke Roberts, who spoke of the many sterling qualities of the recipient, and wished Miami Airs Craw and family every success in the future. Air N. S. Dew, who is the new stationmaster at Hokitika. was welcomed and he was asstned that his stay here would he a very pleasant one. Air Craw, who was then presented with a ease of pipes smt- . alilv responded, and expressed his remet at leaving Hokitika. The singing of "For lie’s a Jolly Good brought the meeting to a close. ■ Craw on Saturday proceeded to Grevmouth. to which centre he has been . promoted.
