HIGHWAYMEN IN MOTOR-CAR.
BERLIN. Dec. At dawn to-day two masked highwaymen held up a motor-car near Leipzig in which money belonging to the Leipzig Tramawys Company was being conveyed to the town. The two called out that they wanle I fH'troi lor their car and then shouted, | hinds up! ” The official with the chauffeur whipped out a revolver and tired, wounding one of the robbers, who, however, undaunted, threw themselves upon their opponents and belaboured them with rubber life-preserv-ers. One ol the highwayinhcii was thrown back on the road and the other, seeing that success was impossible singlehanded, gave up the contest. Hie chauffeur and his companion, who Mete in a half-dazed condition, drove off post-haste towards Leipzig anil the highwaymen made off in their own cat In the opposite direction. They were discovered by tin* police in a place where their car had stuck in the mud. The one who had been wounded was taken to hospital and tho other to prison.
