IN THE COMMONS. (Australian Press Association & Sun.) (Received this day at 11.0 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 23. In the House of Commons, Sir Jovuson Hicks in answer to questions said he was not considering the abolition of capital punishment. Latest figures showed no increase in the number of murders with firearms. Air Churchill told questioners that ho was not prepared to ask the United States to receive part of Britain’s debt payments in kind. He did not favour obtaining power to prevent the raising of loans here for countries with a low standard of living. Ho was not greatly attracted by Afr Sand cm’s suggestion to place collecting boxes in post offices into which clients could place dona- * tions for a reduction of the national debt. The Admiralty announced having placed contracts for eight destroyers.
