(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) VICTORIA V. CHRISTCHURCH. CHRISTCHURCH, February 20. A live rinks match between the Victorian howlers and a Christchurch team today had a most exciting finish. It was a neck and neck contest all the way, the aggregate taken at different stages of the game showing only the smallest margins, and when four rinks had finished all the, howlers gathered round to see the fifth rink play the last two heads the score standing 21/12 against the Australians. This however, put the Victorians three points to the good on the whole match, and when they secured a single on the 20th. head, very few gave the local players a chance. On the last head Christchurch scored fotir and the game ended a draw —I Of) nil. N.Z. TO UR INC TEAM DEFEATED. MELBOURNE, February 20. The Now Zealand touring bowlers were welcomed by the Victorian Bowling Association. A nine rinks match was played at. the Middle Park against the Victorians, for twtenty-ono ends. The locals defeated the New Zealanders' by 18G to 100. The New Zealand rink scores were follows:-J. Tliompson2o. Parker 16 Pieterson 34. Adess 12, Carson 19. Doherty 13, Hutchison 20, Dee 19, Hardley 26. The green was heavy.
