In tlie Supreme Court to-day Hill Tollerton was charged with indecent assault in the Botancial Gardens and acquitted by the jury. Cuthbert Harold Flanagan, an accountant, was found not guilty on a charge of having forged a cheque for C.'IO, purporting to be drawn by James -McKenzie, whose books accused kept. It was admitted the writing on the body of the cheque was accused’s, but lie alleged and .McKenzie denied, that the signature was McKenzie’s. The explanation of defence was that Me- ' Kenzie bad promised to lend accused : £3O. This also was denied. Oliver Victor Truekwell, circus band, was charged with having indecently - assaulted a fourteen-vear-old girl. A verdict of guilty of common assault, - was returned.
