MENTAL HOSPITAL PICNIC

~n Monday a beautiful sunny day broke auspiciously for the Seaview Hospital’s annual picnic. From an early hour all was bustle and excitement at the Hospital. By 9.30 a.m. the complete party was aboard trie three large lorries and the charabanc (the latter considerately lent by NT Newman) ready to set out for Kokatahi. The picnic site was the usual one. one of Mr Craham’s paddocks, which through his kindness is always at our disposal. On arrival, games were iu- | dulged in until lunch at noon. Ho id cheer was steadily and appreciatively disposed of. A post prandial run was then made to the Styx which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. On return to Hraham’s tea was served when further games took place, up to about (1.3(1 when preparation for departure had reluctantly to lie made. A tired, happy and well fed party arrived hack at the Hospital at about ,3 p.m. who unanimously voted that the outing was quite the best one ever held. The success was materially contributed to through the kindness and liberality of the under-mentioned people, whom the Medical Superintendent desires now to thank:— Mesdames .1. Atkinson. .1.
