HOKITIKA HARBOUR BOARD

ORDINARY MEETING
The ordinary meeting of the Hokitika Harbour Board was held on Thursday afternoon last at 4..‘10 o’clock. Present:—Messrs G. A. Wood (Chairman), E. W. Heenan, W. Zeigler, M. Houston. The minutes of the previous meetings (special and ordinary) were read and confirmed. The outward correspondence was adopted. Inward correspondence was dealt with as follows : from T. W. Bruce, resigning seat on Board.—Received with regret. From Lloyd’s Register, offering hook at £6 6s.—Recevied. From Lloyd’s Record, for correction. —Received. From Government Statistician, acknowledging returns for November and December; also from same requiring personnel of Board. —Received. From W. W. I.ambic. Deputy-Trades Commissioner, Wellington, asking port charges.—Received. From Westland Wood and Pulp Co . Christchurch, asking for storage site.— Received. Board regrets none available; enquiry passed to Borough *.ouu-
From Grey District Jubilee Commit tee, invitation.- —Received. Mr Houston represent Board, owing to chair man’s absence from the Coast.
’flic Signalman reported a fair channel, with 10 feet of water; theft of another lifeline, making 5 stolen in 6 months; that the signalnmst is unsound.—Received. The Chairman to write to the press about tho theft of lifelines and empowered to expend up to £SO in new flagstaff. Acounts amounting to £.IOB 17s Id, including £‘3l6 17s (id Joan account, were passed for payment. The meeting rose at 5.30 p.m.
