NEAV YORK, Jan. 28. Delaney and Heeney have each posted a forfeit of -3000 dollars to assure their appearance lor their fifteen -wild bout, scheduled tor March 1. SYDNEY, Jan. 29. Purdy (9.75) fought a fifteen rounds draw with l/.zard (.9.73). The contest was exciting, both men scoring well. The Englishman was a shade ahead up to the”fittfi round. The -N'w Zealander then eoncentrated*his attack on the boily and forced the fighting. Iz.zard, liowevr. proved superior at infighting. hut fighting at length rurdv easily equalised matters. At the end of the bout, the referee was unable to separate the men, and declared a draw. The decision was questioned by a large section of the crowd, who thought Rurdv was entitled to win. .MELBOURNE, Jan. 29. At the Stadium, Norm Gillespie outpointed Dick Congres in a fifteen round contest, after j) fast, clever edition.
