Play in the championship and handicap golf tournament, arranged as a preliminary to the contest between Australian and New Zealand for the Kirk-Windcyer Cup on Monday, was continued at Miramar to-day, when the first and second rounds of the tournament championship were decided. each round being over 18 hole. . Those to survive the day’s play wore: Sloan 'Morpeth (Titi range), Donald Grant (Shirley). A. G. Sime (Westport), and 1). Kenneth Ross (Balmneewa:i). These golfers will meet in the semi-finals in the morning. The final will, be pllayed in the afternoon. Although the day was beautifully fine, players in the tournament found the wind decidedly tricky. The first round of the championship was decided in the morning, and the second round in the afternoon. Details of the first round:—

Sime (Westport) beat H. A. Black (Hntt) 3 and 2. Sloan Morpeth (Titarangi) heat .T. Goss (Wanganui) 3 and 2. Results of the second round are as follows: Sloan Morpeth heat A. D. S. Duncan 4 and 3. Kenneth Ross heat W. R. Smith 5 and 4. Donald Grant heat IT. B. Lusk 1 up. A. G. Sime beat IT. P. Dale 1 up. The semi-final of the ohampionshin will he played to-morrow morning, to l>e followed by the final in the afternoon. The draw for the semi-finat is as follows (play to commence at 10 a.m.) : Sloan Morpeth plays Donald Grant. A. G. Sime plays Kenneth Ross.
