The Home Railway Companies are fullv alive to the possibilities associated wi, the development of efficient mad trnssport services, and they now propose applying to Parliament for powers in inis direction. It is theii intention to seek an Act empowering them to “provide, own. work, and use road vehicles to be worked by animal, electrical, mechanical or other power for the conveyance of traffic of all descriptions and to demand, take and recover fares, rates and charges in respect to traffic, and if thought tit to modify fares and rates.”
