TENNIS.

WEST COAST TOURNAMENT. After the delay in the morning caused by the rain, play commenced in the West Coast Tennis tournament yesterday afternoon at 1.30 o’clock and continued until 7.30 o’clock. The conditions for play were excellent, tl re re being an absence of bright sunshine, and the light was good right up i<> the last. The courts were in good condition, and the play was excellent, some of the contests being specially fine. There was it large attendance present and the play was closely followed with great interest throughout the afternoon. Ladies of the two Clubs combined for the supply of refreshments during the afternoon. The various games were played off without the slightest hitch, the arrangements of the tournament committee being excellent, and the loss of time in the morning was nearly made up by the evening.
