WEDDING BELLS

I, A R G E—STEVENSON. A profusion of pink and white flowers intermingled with delicate greenery decorated St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Christchurch, on Tuesday evening, when the marriage was celebrated of Elsie, only daughter o! Mrs Stevenson, Gloucester Street, and the late Mr Andrew Stevenson, to Albert Leslie, youngest son of Mrs Large, Christchurch. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. N. L. D. Mobster, and Mr Anthony presided at the organ. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr David Stevenson. She wore a model gown of Paris net mounted on ivory satin. The frock was fashioned with a long sleeveless bodice and the whole of the skirt was foimed of narrow picot-edged frills of the net, finished in deep vandyked effect. A large appliqued flower motif of pastel shades, outlined with gold tracery, was placed in each vandvke high on the skirt, and the same trimming was repeated on one shoulder. Her handsome veil edged with a horde rof line cream lace was arranged from a coronet ol silver and orange blossoms, and bung in long, graceful folds over her frock, forming the train. She carried a shower bouquet of pastel shaded flowers. . , Miss Doris Stevenson, ol Ho.uti.it who attended her cousin as bridesmaid, wore a charming sleeveless gown of peach-pink georgette, quaintly trimmed with a haml-stencilled border in deep pink and silver, and the skirt rucked on to the long, plain bodice. _ Her wide-brimmed hat of Swiss crinoline straw toned with her frock and was swathed with ribbon velvet of a deeper share. Her bouquet was of pink and crold flowers and greenery. "M r A. D. Waddell attended th bridegroom as best man. A reception was subsequently hot at the Winter Gardens, where a large number of guests were entertained. Mrs Stevenson, who received the guests, was wearing a handsome model gown of water-lily green georgette mounted on rose biege georgette, the overdress falling open in front. H was embroidered in an uncommon stitched design in rose beige and green, the same trimmine being carried out on the long, full sleeves. Her hat of rose biege crinoline straw bad a bright flower mounted round the crown, and she carried a bouquet of shaded pink carnations Mrs Large, the bridegroom s mother, wore an attractive gown of navv-hlue crepe de chine relieved with beige georgette, a smart black bat, and carried a bouquet of mauve and violet flowers. When the bride left for lmr wedding tour she wore a model suit of stockinette chenille in fawn and cinnamon brown. The skirt, box-pleated, was shaded in hand effect, and the jumpe cat bodice of the fawn had bands o the darker material as trimmings. Her fiat of silk corded ribbon toned with her frock and was relieved with touches of colour round the crown.
