WEDDING BELLS
A pretty wedding was solemnized at St. Andrew’s Church, Hokitika, on Saturday morning last, when Gertrude Lvdi'n, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Andrew Hackell, was united in matrimony by Rev. Hayward to Walter William, younger son of Mr and Mrs S. C.'. Brassington, ot Christchurch. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a dainty frock of white georgette, panelled with silver lace. Her circular vo'l fell in graceful folds from a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful bouquet of sweet peas and ixias. Her toilette was completed with shoes and hose to tone. The bridesmaids, Miss Muriel King and Miss Eva Brassington. wore pretty frocks of lavendar crepe-de-chine and white georgette, respectively, and carried posies to match. The bridegroom was supported by Mr A. C. Brassington as best man and Mr Edward Hackell as grooms-
man. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at Preston’s tea rooms. During the afternoon a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, the bride’s mother wearing grey silk marocain, and carrying a lavender posy. The bridegroom’s mother was dressed in navy French erepe-de-chine. The bride and bridegroom left on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a fawn ensemble suit, witli hat and shoes to match.
