Cricket has its peculiar humours no less than other outdoor games (remarks the Auckland “ Star ”). During the progress of the Plunket Shield matci. at Eden Park a lady who had just arrived on the ground inuqired of a Pressman: “Has half-time gone yet?” An Auckland bowler on another occasion missed a return of the red-hot variety, which caused another lady to pleasantly ask: “ Isn’t the bowler alto cat>cli the ball ? ”
