Messrs It. Cropp sour.. J. A. McCollum. ,J. Manera, D. Ryan and P. H. B. Olsen, were elected members of tbe Club.
The Treasurer’s statement in connection with the recent race meeting showed receipts £3734 18s fid, expenses £3322 os 3d. leaving a. surplus of £ll2 13s 3d as against £373 11s Od last year.
The amount paid to the Government for taxation in respect to the meeting was, totalizator tax. £285 Os Od ; dividend tax. £OO2 2s fid ; stakes tax, £74 ; amusement lax. £(52 8s fid. The relief granted last session by the removal of general taxation on receipts amount to about £2O. The statement was adopted, members expressing pleasure and gratification at the excellent result under the circumstances. Hon Afr Aliehel spoke very appreciatively of the course and appointments, and the smooth manner in which the meeting was conducted. Air AYillia.ms thanked Air Aliehel for his kind remarks. It was resolved to extend the conveniences in the ladies’ cloak room, and to have a false rail placed at the entrance to and the exit from the straight.
Votes of thanks were passed to all who had assisted the Club at the meeting. and the good work of the officials was specially appreciated. The programme for the Easter Meeting was adopted on the lines of that of last year. The stakes total .-COGfi and include two trotting events. Before the meeting closed. Afr AA’illiams took occasion to congratulate Mr Robert Adamson on his marriage and wish Afr and Airs Adamson a happy life. Afr Adamson’s success as a sportsman was also referred to. and his health honored with musical honors. A!r Adamson replied in very cordial terms, and expressed his intention of offering a cup for the Christmas ATeeting next year. The gift was appreciated by the Chairman, who thanked Air Adamson for the special help he had been to the Club at all times.
