In a twelve, rounds contest, Eugene Criqui, former feather-weight champion of the world, fought Gustave Huinmery, aged 19 years, for the featherweight championship of France. Criqui gave up in the .sixth round. The fight was short and exciting. The ex-cham-pion attempted his famous uppercut, flummery, however, was brimming over with the energy of youth, and he forced the lighting, and overwhelmed his opponent. Only C'-riqui’s skill, courage and ring tactics enabled him to last to the sixth round Then he raised his hand, indicating that he was beaten. COOK’S DEFEAT. LONDON. Dee. 21.
