According to the report to be submitted to the New Zealand Soccer annual meeting, tbe Association has exhausted its funds. INQUEST VERDTCT. GISBORNE, Dec. 21

At tbe inquest on John James Keane. Cook County Engineer, whose body was found in the AYninintn River on Tuesday, a motor car lieiim balanced on the bridge, with the side wheels over the river and a door open, evidence was given that deceased had taken the corner sharply on turning on to the bridge, and having just avoided running over one side of the bridge, swerved to the other side, and apparently fell, or was jolted, through flic door into the river.

RADIO AFFAIRS WELLINGTON, Dee. 22. The (broad effects of the more important of the decisions arrived at by the International Radio Conleroncc,. bold in AVashington recently, are outlined in the interim report submitted to the I>cstmaster-General by Air A. The imported suggestion for the extension of New Zealand s t,o\ernment’s activities in the field ot radio signalling, including the creation of es]veeially equipped service was also incorporated and it is hoped the Scientific Industrial Research Department will he able to devote sometime to the unsolved scientific problems of radio transmission calling for treatment in the Southern Hemisphere Convention. It also agreed to that special provision, under which deck officers on smaller vessels trading on the New Zealand coast, will be permitted to act ns wireless operators.
