EVERYBODYS’ PICTURES TOM MIX AND TONY WEDNESDAY. 'I lie boars of Yellowstone National Park made Torn Mix one of their best pals while be was filming scenes for " The Canyon of Light,” Fox Filins latest thriller, starring .Mix as Tom Mills, leader oi his own home range who becomes a dispatch rider while lighting in France. The bears soon caught the scent of food cooking in the open .and assembled at the edges of the. clearing where the wagon was located. They prowled among the trees with satisfied grunts indicating they were satisfied they would soon have a little change in their diet. Occasionally one of the more venturesome would approach the chuck wagon and stand on his hind feet as though looking over the wagon’s contents. “Nippy,” one of the old-timers in the park, finally ambled up to the ear and sat on his haunches. “ Nig,” a. black hear, and his mate, “ The Countess,” joined Nippy ” as a reception committee that waited till Mix arrived in camp. I hen they waddled over to him anil after some persuasive gifts of lione,> posed for their pictures with the film star. The bears enjoyed their first meal at the Mix camp so well that they returned every day at noon as long ns the Mix outfit was on location and made friends not only with Mix. but with Dorothy Dwnn, William Walling, Ralph Sipperly, Duke Lee, Carl Miller, Marry Norton and Carmelita Gcraghtv, others members o.f “ The Canyon of Right ” company. “ The Canyon or Light ” is one of the best of 31 ix Hesterns, packed with thrills and suspense, and rippling with laughter. One of the most sensational and exciting scenes ever filmed is shown when an entire ghost city is wrecked in a light between 3fix and a gang of desperadoes, while the beauties of the Yellowstone are shown in many fine
sequences,. Further chapters of the new serial, “ Fighting with Buffalo Bill,” will he shown on Wednesday night.
