(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) A MET SUMMER. WEI.jLTNGTON, Dec. 10. Dr E. Kidson, Director of the Meteorological Office, stated to-day that radio had no influence on the weather, hut that, the present conditions' were due to the fact we were approaching the period of maximum sunspots. From present indications ho said, the summer should be very wet and cold.

HOX. HAWK EX. TILTH AM, Dec. 17. lion. Hawkcn (Minister for Agriculture) addressed liis constituents hero last night. He attributed the slump in the Dominion to over importation during the last two years. At one time imports exceeded the exports by six millions sterling. But for this the Government were not responsible, as motor cars were largely responsible for this excess-. Replying to a questioner, he said there was a general impression that they had lost a lot of money over the Daily Produce Expert Control Hoard, hut his opinion was that they had not lost anything.
