CANTERBURY EDUCATION BOARD.
The Canterbury Education Board met at Christchurch on Friday. Present : Messrs C. S. Thompson (chair, man), W. A. Banks, .J. Maze, G. W. Armitage, W. H. Winsor, J. G. Gow, F. H. Andrews, W. Johnson, T. Hughes and If. Wild. Appointments made included: Inchbnnilie, Mrs J. J. Askenbeck, solo teacher. Resignations accepted included : Hokitika. Miss I. F. Wallace; Kokatalii Upper. Mrs E. J. Kelly. It was decided to send letters of appreciation to Mr A, 15.l 5 . Tveys-Wolls, Domett. Miss Wallace. Hokitika, and Mrs Kelly, Kokatabi Upper, in view of their long service. A letter was received from the Department enquiring whether the Board had under consideration the question of selling to some private person the 31 acres Education reserve in Tavlorviile, which had been used as a recreation ground, and whether consideration had been given to the question of offering to lease it to the Brunnerton Borough Council. It was resolved to offer the reserve to the Brunnerton Borough Council on condition that- a nominal rent is fortheoing and that the children are allowed the use of the reserve during school hours.
