Al. Houston and Co. will sell in the mart on Wednesday at 2.30 p.in. 40 young fowls, mostly layers. At the Alagistrate’s Court to-day before Alessrs Evans and Jeffries (Justices) three young men, whose names were suppresed on the application of the counsel (Air Alurdoch) pleaded guilty t» a charge of attempting to Convert to their use on Saturday night a motor car standing in Tailored Street, valued at £SOO. Sergeant King stated the removal of the car had been reported to the police, and in !the course of the search tlio car was found in possession of the accused. Air Alurdoch stated the incident was nothing more than a foolish prank and nothing criminal was intended. After consultation the Bench fined the accused £1 each and costs (one witness) 15s. and one of the accused agreed to a prohibition order being issued against him to have currency for twelve months.
