Tlie District Land Registrar notifies in tin's issue under the Land Transfer Act intention to issue new certificates of title in three separate applications announced. The fortnightly visit of the Plunket Nurse, Miss Spring will take place tomorrow. The usual visits will be carried out in the morning and in the afternoon the nurse will he in attendance at St. Andrew’s Hall. Messages may he left at the Vicarage. The death took- place on Tuesday evening of Miss Phyllis White, the eldest daughter of Mr Jno. White, of Blacks Point, Reefton, at the age of IS years. Deceased had been in had health for some time, and about a fortnight ago was removed to the hospital, when it was apparent the end was not far off. The tender of Messrs F. and T. Sotheran, of Greymouth, at £-5900, has been accepted by Messrs Harley and Co., Ltd., for the construction of new premises in brick, on the site recent!occupied by Air C. Uddstrom, Mackay Street, Greymouth. Eight tenders were received, one from Christchurch, one from Reefton. and six from Greymouth. The contract will be commenced immediately. On the howling green last evening in a game for the Ferns, the challengers Messrs Haybittle and Breeze defeated the holders, Messrs Ward and Coles, by 21 to 16.

As the result of being scalded by a pot of water which he accidentally upset ,tlie infant son of Mr B. Gibbons, of Camerons, is at present under treatment at the Grey River Hospital, and is progressing favourably.

At the weekly euchre tournament on Tuesday evening at St. Diary's Club, the following were the prize winners: Mrs Veale 1. Mr M. McGavin 2, Mr Feeney 3, Miss A. Daly 4. There was a good attendance and supper was served before the gathering dispersed.
At the Magistrate’s Court this morning before Messrs D. .). Evans and T. W. Dull', Justices, judgment for plaintiff was given in two cases whore the Receiver of Land Revenue claimed from R. Hodgson £3 in each, with costs Bs. All other business not settled was adjourned, including the Warden’s Court, owing to the absence of the Magistrate and Warden.
A party of men under Mr Henry Rutland left for Southland yesterday. Near Lumsden the party will be engaged in prospecting with the Keystone drill for the Rimu Gold Dredging Coy. which has an option over a large area ol ground believed to be payably auriferous. The district is well served with electricity if an electric gold dredge is decided upon. The auriferous drift is said to lie easy of treatment. Meantime boring operations have been suspended at Teromaknu, but are being continued on the outskirts of Rimu Flat.
The Sunday School Hall of the St. Mary’s Church, Addington, was tastefully decorated cm Tuesday evening, reports the Christchurch “ Press,” the occasion of the annual parish social and public welcome to .Mrs W. S. Bean who lias recently returned from Fugland. 'There was a large attendance of parishioners and friends, and an enjoyable evening was spent. The Girl Guido troup of the district formed a guard of honour into the hall. Before proceedings were started, Mrs Bean said that she would like to congratulate the Girl Guides on the success that the movement was attaining in Addington, and also on the splendid manner in which they had turned out that evening. Miss Leliah Clerk presented Mrs Bean with a bouquet. Speeches of welcome were made by Mr W. 11. Griffiths, Mr AY. G. Jamieson, Dr Thacker and Mrs E. Downing. Mrs Beau acknowledged the welcome and spoke interestingly on historical places she had visited in England.
